Mark D. Bailey went into private practice after serving as the Senior Assistant Public Defender for Fauquier and Rappahannock Counties. During his 10 years of service with the Office of the Public Defender, Mr. Bailey was immersed in all aspects of Criminal Law as he defended both juvenile and adult clients in over 3,600 criminal cases, ranging from traffic offenses to the most serious of felony charges. Mr. Bailey also gained invaluable appellate experience pleading and arguing cases before the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Virginia and was designated as the office’s Appellate Supervisor. Since joining the firm, Mr. Bailey has expanded his practice to utilize his trial skills and experience for clients in the areas of Business Litigation and General Civil Litigation.
Mr. Bailey is a Virginia native, having attended James Madison High School in Vienna, followed by James Madison University, in Harrisonburg. Mr. Bailey earned his Juris Doctor from Ave Maria School of Law, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 2004, and served on the school’s Honor Board and Moot Court Board. After Mark and his wife, Tonya (also a graduate of Ave Maria School of Law), fulfilled an opportunity to run their own small business in Grand Rapids, Michigan, they returned to Virginia to embark on his practice of criminal law.
Mr. Bailey enjoys music and the outdoors, but most of all his faith and family.
